They're happy and energetic for now, but after a week at Green Valley Bible Camp, we have them all whipped into shape. A week of activities in the mountains of Arkansas, along with Bible lessons and provoking studies, should have these kids exhausted. In a good way.
About 14 of the youth (and Richard) will be going to Green Valley Bible Camp (GVBC), this week - a camp this congregation has participated with for many years. Yet, the general public may not be familiar with GVBC. So, here is some basic information: Green Valley Bible Camp literally involves a valley within the Arkansas hills. Each hillside - one for boys, one for girls - contains cabins for the youth and their cabin counselors.
It is a rustic camp with a variety of facilities (i.e. pavilions, cafeteria, swimming pool, softball fields, basketball courts, concession stand, etc.). It provides a beautiful location for studying God’s word, offering worship to Him, and enjoying the fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ.
Green Valley Bible Camp provides a good mixture of spiritual focus and good old-fashioned fun. Each day contains a morning devotional, Bible class, Bible class discussion groups, singing session, softball, volleyball, various tournament games (horseshoes, ping pong, two-on-two basketball, free throws, etc.), an evening worship service and evening activity.
Each day begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at about 10 p.m. (later on Friday). There are usually around 100 youth in attendance and 20 to 25 counselors. If you have questions about camp, please ask! Green Valley Bible Camp is a great experience in a wonderful place.
