Our building became a warehouse, a distribution center, communication hub, and a cafeteria.
We became merchandise managers, logistics engineers, inventory specialists, and human resource managers. We've cut trees, cleaned homes, carried debris, and moved households. We have been benevolent, have edified, been edified, and have opened doors to evangelism. |

On May 22, 2011 an EF5 tornado blew through Joplin, Missouri. 7500 structures were destroyed and 162 lives were lost.
The building at 26th & Connecticut was damaged, but the members shook the debris off and rose up to help our community in our time of need. Hundreds of volunteers came and worked out of our building during the summer months and we are so grateful to have hosted them. We lost one of our deacons and his wife (Bill & Sarah) on that day. They left behind two young adults, who are finding their way in a world without 'mom & dad'. They also left behind a church family, who miss them deeply. Bill & Sarah would have thrived in the work after the storm. |
